Carpenter in Whites Ford
Whites Ford, FL sits in northwest St. Johns County, and we work in that part of the county regularly. Whites Ford is a small named place near the creeks that feed the St. Johns River. It carries a St. Augustine mailing address in the 32092 ZIP, though it sits 20 miles northwest of downtown St. Augustine and about 4.8 miles north-northwest of World Golf Village.
We will be straight with you: there is not much published about Whites Ford itself, and we are not going to invent a town around it. What we can tell you is what the houses in this part of the county are like. You can also browse other communities we work in.

What Makes Carpentry Different in Whites Ford
Whites Ford has no distinct housing stock of its own. It is a place name inside the wider 32092 and CR 210 corridor, and the work here is whatever that corridor needs. In practice, that means two very different jobs within a few miles of each other.
One is brand-new. The master-planned wood-frame subdivisions that dominate this corridor, including nearby Silverleaf, Shearwater, TrailMark and Bannon Lakes, are 2000s-to-present production construction. The drywall is flat and square, framing is predictable, and the ask is character: a media wall, box beams, a closet system that is not wire shelving, an office in a flex room.
The other is old and rural. Along the William Bartram Scenic Highway (SR 13) corridor and toward the river near Orangedale and Fruit Cove, there are older riverfront homes where nothing is square. Those need built-ins scribed to the room, trim matched to profiles no longer stocked, and rot repair on porch and jamb work.
Climate splits the difference. This is inland, roughly 20 miles from the Atlantic, so salt-air corrosion is not a factor the way it is at the beach. What you get instead is heavy pine and live oak cover, wetlands and creek systems, and high humidity all year, so shaded exteriors dry slowly. We acclimate solid stock before milling and specify moisture-tolerant substrates near slabs and exterior doors. Low-lying parcels near the creeks sit in flood zones.

Whether You Have an HOA Depends on Your Address
Whites Ford itself is unincorporated and unplatted with no HOA, so there is no architectural review board in the picture. The nearby master-planned communities are the opposite, with HOAs, architectural review and CDD assessments standard. There is no historic district on either side of that line.
Interior millwork is almost never a review matter anywhere in the county. Exterior work is. Tell us your address at the walkthrough and we will tell you which set of rules applies.

Why Whites Ford Homeowners Call Klein Carpentry
We build to the house in front of us. A new production home and an older river house are different jobs, and we do not quote them the same way. We measure on site every time, and we scribe rather than force. We are also honest about what we know, which is why this page does not pretend Whites Ford has a downtown.

What Jacksonville Homeowners Say
4.8from 51 Google reviews
I reached out to get an estimate on building a wet bar to put in the mudroom of our home. Ray sent me a work up and it looked great, so we moved forward. Their craftsmanship is flawless, and they truly went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the work. Would highly recommend if you’re looking at home projects

Absolutely recommend! 5 Star experience all around. Pricing was extremely reasonable and fair and the results of the work was spectacular. I had a window frame and siding that needed to be replaced due to water damage. The end result was nothing short of excellent. I will be definitely be using them again going forward and will be letting others know to use them as well.

If I could give Klein Carpentry 10 Stars I would. Ray and Nathan are First Class Carpenters and throughout the whole process their attention to detail was beyond our expectations. We had Shiplap installed in our Cafe/Dining Room and Board&Batten throughout the Foyer. Through the start of installation the communication, cleanliness and putting up a plastic wall to exhaust the dust outside was a Plus because going through renovations can be stressful but they made it perfect. We are so impressed that they are coming back to do built-ins on each side of the fireplace. ⭐️⭐️Update Second Review⭐️⭐️ Ray and Nathan has exceeded our expectations again. Just Wow!!! They designed our 10 ft Built Ins here in Marshes of Maderia by Master Craft Homes. We absolutely love the Reeded Door and Drawer Panel design with Lights looks so Sophisticated and Timeless . Now our New Home looks complete ❤️

Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly is Whites Ford?
Whites Ford is a small populated place in northwest St. Johns County, near the creek systems that feed the St. Johns River. It carries a St. Augustine mailing address in the 32092 ZIP but sits roughly 20 miles northwest of downtown St. Augustine and about 4.8 miles north-northwest of World Golf Village.
Is salt air a concern in this part of the county?
Not meaningfully. Whites Ford is inland, roughly 20 miles from the Atlantic, so there is no real salt-air exposure driving fastener corrosion. The local issue is sustained humidity, heavy canopy and slow-drying exteriors, so we acclimate solid stock and use moisture-tolerant substrates where it counts.
Do I need HOA approval for carpentry work here?
It depends on your address. Whites Ford itself is unincorporated and unplatted with no HOA or architectural review, while the nearby master-planned communities carry HOAs, architectural review and CDD assessments. Either way, interior millwork is normally outside that review, and exterior work is where approval matters.
Can you work on both new subdivision homes and older river houses?
Yes, and they are handled differently. New wood-frame production homes have flat, square drywall, so panels and cases go in cleanly and design drives the job. Older rural and riverfront homes along the SR 13 corridor need scribed built-ins, matched trim profiles and moisture repair, which we scope separately.
