One drawer has gone bad and you are deciding whether it is a ten dollar part or a new kitchen. Drawer glide repair in Jacksonville, FL is one of the smaller cabinet fixes we handle, and it is usually cheaper than expected. Diagnose before you buy, because most people ordering a part online order the wrong length or mount.

A stripped screw hole causes most drawers that drop on one side, and retightening does nothing because particleboard grips once. The repair is a glued dowel, redrilled, or a longer screw.
Older Jacksonville houses settle, so cabinets set level in 1968 often are not now. A drawer binding at one point has glides out of parallel, a shimming problem rather than a parts problem.

A broken drawer glide in an older home is usually a bottom mount roller, still sold in standard lengths. A wood on wood runner in a 1920s Springfield built-in is not a glide at all, and the fix is wax or a conversion. Undermounts fail in a way that looks worse than it is: the clips at the back of the box break, and cost a few dollars.
This is where the wrong part gets ordered. Drawer slide replacement needs three measurements.
Glide length: measure the cabinet member, mounting holes to back end. Glides come in even 2 inch increments, 12 through 24 inches, so 20.5 inches means a 20 inch glide plus a bracket.
Opening width: side mounts need opening minus 1 inch, undermounts minus 42 mm.
Box depth: undermount depth must equal glide length exactly or the clips will not engage. Choose full extension, and buy the pair.
Much of a sticking drawer fix takes ten minutes, no parts.
Stop if the glide is bent or the box corners have opened. Forcing a bent glide straight rarely lasts.
Drawer track repair is worth doing when the box is sound. The box is the test, not the hardware.
